Jan's Rails To Trails Rescue Sanctuary is a place for unwanted horses to live out their lives with loving care. The organization started when Sneed took in an abused horse and nursed it back to health. The word spread, and soon she was contacted about other horses needing a good home. In order to pay for the cost of maintaining the animals, Sneed started giving horse care and riding lessons to kids, according to the release.

Funding comes from riding lessons, horse sponsorships and general donations.
